This vase was released in 1936 by Alva AAlto, a master of modern architecture and design representative Finland, and was released at the Paris Exhibition next year. It is one of the world's most famous glassware and is also a symbol of Finland design.
Flowy, organic form motifs include the form of a Finland lake and a cross-section shape near the roots of birch. The base is still hand-blown in Iittala workshop and seven skilled artisans work together to complete a base.
